Strength-Based Therapy

Mike Carolla, MFT

Mike’s practice focuses on helping couples and families to strengthen or repair the emotional and relational bonds that have been damaged. This also includes pre-filing divorce mediation, post-filing mediation, co-parenting mediation issues, as well as parent/child issues where the divorce has caused a breach in the relationship.

He has worked closely with the courts and is often referred to by the family court system for co-parenting mediation, post divorce parent/child mediation, as well as individual mental health issues.

Mike is the director of the Domestic Violence and Anger Management treatment programs at Touchstone Counseling. Several of his articles on counseling and mediation have been published in various profesional publications.

Mike Carolla takes a strength-based approach to the therapy process. He believes in helping individuals and families to approach their problems from their “best selves” rather than from their pathologies or problems. Individuals and families can usually find a way through the issues at hand in a way that not only works best for them, but also helps each person to be better able to solve their issues on their own in the future.

Mike Carolla is Executive Director of Touchstone Counseling Services in Pleasant Hill, CA. He has over twenty years experience in the mental health and mediation field.
